About the App
Anyone Want To is a great new mobile app created to simplify the creation and coordination of activities within a group. The idea was born when the developer lived in 4 different neighborhoods over the course of a few years and noticed that most don’t have a good approach for finding things to do and meeting neighbors. There are usually neighborhood Facebook pages, sub-pages for specific activities within a neighborhood, group texts, WhatsApp groups, etc., but Facebook’s algorithm makes it hard to rely on, and most sub-pages, group texts and things like that require new users to know about the group and get added, and keeping up with them all can be a pain!
The intention with the app was to create something where people can say “Anyone want to…?” and it could quickly be seen by everyone who would be interested, but more importantly, it would ONLY be seen by people who are interested. The result is unique in that it is a one-stop app for groups, where people set preferences to have the experience they want, without getting spammed by things they’re not interested in, without feeling like they’re spamming uninterested people, and without having to join 20 different pages/sites/apps to cover all their interests.
Each group can have their own list of activity types depending on their interests, available amenities, etc. And for each activity type, there are 3 preference levels: notify (you get a push notification when someone creates an activity that you set to notify), viewable (no notifications, but you can see these activities on your feed), and ignore (you won’t even see these in your app). Better yet, you can adjust them whenever you want. Hurt your ankle and can’t play pickleball for 2 weeks? Set your preferences to ignore pickleball activities, then turn them back on when you’re healthy.
And while it was initially developed with an eye towards neighborhoods with HOAs and community amenities, it can be used by any group where people may want to do things together, usually where the members are in close proximity to each other. Some other examples are apartment buildings, churches, country clubs, sororities/fraternities, and many more!
Note that the app is paid for at the group level, so individual users don’t have to provide financial information or manage another subscription. We do offer free trials, so if you think this might be a good fit for your group, have the group leadership reach out to us at help@AnyoneWantTo.com for more information!
