Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

Anyone Want To, LLC ("AWT," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Anyone Want To mobile application and website. AWT helps people create, discover, and participate in activities through community and interest-based groups. This policy explains the information we process, why we process it, who may receive it, and what happens when an account is deleted.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information. We process names, email addresses, authentication information, account identifiers, group memberships, administrator roles, and profile information that users provide. Some account or profile fields may include optional demographic or free-text information.

Activities and participation. We process activity categories, dates, times, descriptions, locations, links, RSVP responses, party sizes, waitlists, comments, notes, participation history, and preferences.

Device and technical information. We process push-notification tokens, installation identifiers, device and app diagnostics, IP addresses, user agents, request details, error reports, and performance information. Technical logs may contain submitted information, including personal information.

Support communications. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message and related correspondence.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and authenticate accounts; manage memberships and group administration; show activities and participation; deliver requested notifications and service emails; maintain historical activity records; respond to support requests; troubleshoot errors; protect and operate the service; and meet applicable legal obligations.

4. Who can see information

People with access to an activity through a group may receive activity, participation, and related user-profile information. Group administrators may access information needed to manage their groups; authorized AWT administrators may access information needed to operate the service.

Some activity-related API responses currently include user email addresses and other profile fields even when those fields are not displayed on the app screen. We are reviewing this data exposure. Selecting which groups appear in your feed or changing notification preferences does not change what other authorized group members can access.

Information you submit in descriptions, comments, locations, and notes may be visible to others with access to the relevant activity. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in shared content.

5. Service providers

We use Google Cloud for backend and database infrastructure; Expo Push Service and downstream Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications; Resend for service-related emails; and Sentry for error reporting and performance diagnostics. These services receive information necessary for their functions, such as email addresses and message content, push tokens and notification content, or technical error and performance information.

Our website and support email use Namecheap-related hosting services. Service-provider records, delivered messages, and technical logs may be held outside the AWT application database.

6. Advertising and diagnostics

AWT does not currently display third-party advertising in the app. Our code review did not identify an active advertising-network SDK or cross-app advertising tracking integration. We use technical diagnostics, including Sentry, to understand crashes, errors, and app performance. Diagnostic events may include app or device information and details of actions leading to an error.

7. Notifications and choices

You can manage activity and group-specific notification preferences within the app, and you can disable push notifications through your device settings. We may still send service-related messages about account access, administration, or security.

8. Account deletion

You can request account deletion using the account settings in supported app versions, including version 2.0.34 and later once available to you. You may also request deletion using our account-deletion information page or by emailing help@anyonewantto.com.

When deletion is successfully completed, AWT permanently disables the account, replaces the account name and email address with non-identifying placeholders, clears specified profile information, revokes authentication credentials, and deactivates registered devices. We also replace comments and RSVP notes authored by the account and clear descriptions, locations, and links on activities it created.

Deletion may cancel upcoming user-owned activities, cancel qualifying RSVPs, withdraw upcoming waitlist entries, and end active group memberships. Group-owned activities are not automatically cancelled solely because the account is deleted. If you are the sole administrator of a group, or if certain account records require reconciliation, deletion may be delayed until those issues are resolved.

Account deletion cannot be undone. You may register a new account using the same email address, subject to normal registration requirements, but the new account will not restore the deleted account or its historical participation.

9. Historical records and limits of deletion

AWT retains certain historical activity, RSVP, comment, participation, and group-membership records, including internal identifiers and relationships, to preserve the continuity and integrity of activity history. Structured details such as dates, categories, status changes, and participation relationships may remain after account deletion.

Although AWT removes direct account identifiers and selected user-entered information during deletion, retained records and technical information are not guaranteed to be fully anonymous or unlinkable in every circumstance. Preferences and some historical technical records may remain.

Deletion does not automatically remove every copy of information from server logs, backups, support correspondence, previously delivered emails or notifications, other users’ copies, or third-party service-provider systems. Information in those systems may be retained according to operational practices, provider arrangements, and applicable legal requirements.

10. Retention

We retain information for purposes such as operating the service, maintaining activity and participation history, troubleshooting, security, support, and meeting legal obligations. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods. We have not established a single retention period that applies to all records, backups, logs, and provider-held information. You can contact us to ask about particular information or request deletion where applicable.

11. Security

We use technical and administrative measures intended to protect information and restrict access. No online service or storage system can guarantee complete security.

12. Children

AWT is not designed specifically for children under 13. The current registration process does not verify every user’s age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through AWT, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Privacy requests

You may contact us to ask about personal information, request correction, or request deletion. Rights and available responses depend on applicable law and the circumstances of the request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.

14. Updates and contact

We may revise this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
